
Angie Kingma spent 6 years at McMaster University completing a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in Gerontology & Psychology, as well as Bachelor of Health Science of Occupational Therapy in 2000. She has published research from her undergraduate thesis which investigated in-home versus in-hospital assessments for Alzheimer’s patients. She is a member in good standing of the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO) and the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT).

Angie began her OT career at COTA Rehab providing in-home occupational therapy to adults and older adults with mental health and cognitive impairment diagnoses. She went on to expand her skillset at Credit Valley Hospital in the Schizophrenia Program, Inpatient Psychiatry and an Outpatient Mental Health Clinic (the S.T.A.R.T. Program). In addition to extensive experience in mental health, Angie has also been employed in the Auto Insurance Industry for over 3 years, working with individuals with a variety of soft tissue and spinal cord injuries completing Future Care Reports as well as Housekeeping and Attendant Care Assessments. Angie has received specialized training in Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and has been conducting mindfulness training for 3 years. Her most recent speaking engagement was in May 2009 on MBCT for Depression at the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists' Mental Health Conference. She also specializes in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for chronic pain and anxiety. Angie continues to have a special interest in working with older adults.
Prior to working as an occupational therapist, Angie volunteered extensively and enjoyed traveling, spending time with friends and family, staying active, camping and listening to music. Angie currently lives in the Milton area with her husband and children.
