
Linda Davies is certified as an Occupational Therapist/Physiotherapist Assistant (OTA/PTA) from Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario. Linda also completed two years in the Natural Sciences Program at McMaster University. She has been an Associate member of the Vocational Rehabilitation Association of Canada (VRA) formerly known as the Canadian Association of Rehabilitation Professionals (CARP) since 2001. Linda completed the Ontario Brain Injury Association's Level One Home and Community Based Rehabilitation Program and has been a member for six years. She has close to ten years experience as an OTA/PTA in Ontario's Auto Insurance Industry. and has provided input to the Mohawk College OTA/PTA program regarding the role of OTA/PTA's in the auto insurance industry.
Linda was involved with establishing an OTA/PTA department in a large rehabilitation company. Her duties included the recruitment, training and mentoring of other OTA/PTA's. Clinical practice includes working with people of all ages who have sustained severe orthopedic, brain, spinal cord injuries or who are experiencing physical or psychological difficulties. Previous employment includes a position as an occasional Educational Assistant (EA) with the local school board, where Linda gained valuable experience with special needs children within the school environment.
Linda is a Level Two certified coach through the National Coaching Certification Program of the Coaching Association of Canada. She has enjoyed coaching teams at various levels for over fifteen years. Her volunteer activities also include being an executive member of the Hamilton Ringette Association and School Parent Council member. Prior to becoming an OTA/PTA Linda was a qualified lifeguard and swam competitively. This experience translates well in assisting clients with their pool exercises. An avid horseback rider Linda volunteered for the T.E.A.D. Equestrian Association for the Disabled in Mount Hope. Linda currently resides in Hamilton with her husband and three children.
